A Promise chapter 1

A PROMISE

Characters: A young sephiroth, Genesis, Angeal, professors Hojo and ghast, my oc Aria and her mother Freya.

Story: This is just the start of a story i had in mind, a young sephiroth finds a friend in the form of a girl taken to the labs as a child, the girl is a healer the last one much like Aerith.

So please dont worry if timelines are off slightly i wanted to write about proffessor Gahst for a time too without him being dead.

A single boy of 8 years old stood in a room, a room much like a doctors. Steel tables with restraints, various potions and tools, the room itslef was grey and almost lifelss.

The boy wore a white T-shirt and loose white trousers, his hair silver and very long for a boy his age.

The boy stood silently watching two adults deep in discussion, he knew better than to interupt them. He remembered once when he had interupted their conversation and the consequinces that had follwed, the painfull needle, the cold restraints and the crying afterwords.

'So your going off to find the healer then' he heard the first man say, like evryone he saw around this place, both men wore white lab coats but couldnt be more different.

'Yes we have located her and will bring her in' said the first man. The boy starred at him, this man was his father and from his earliest memories he had scared him, He was tallish, black hair tied back into a pony tail and wore glasses. The boy tried to surpress a shiver but failed causing him to catch the eye of his father.

'Sephiroth' He said starring down at the boy, who immedielty shrank back waiting for punishment but nothing came.

'Sephiroth go to your room.now!' his father ordered.

A tall man appeared and escorted the boy back to his room, thought little Sephiroth could not help but smile, Proffessor Hojo his father was gong away for a time and that ment no needles, no horrible pain for some time.

As he left little Sephiroth heard his father say 'I expect you Ghast to keep an eye on my specimen while im gone' and he felt a little hope in his young heart, unlike his father, professor Ghast was a lot kinder and worked well around him, he would never push him over his limit and the injections given were a lot less painfull with him around.

'Of course' Ghast replied before Sephiroth's room door was shut and locked.

My life changed the night the men came for us.

It was a typical normal night and I had not long turned 4 years old and our small village was really quiet. My mamma Freya and my daddy Luca had moved from the big city of Midgar to the outskirts of wuti.

I loved the farmlands, the funny big birds daddy called chocobos and the coloured flowers that smelled nice.

'Aria come over here' mummys voice said, I turned and ran to mummy.

MY hair was really long and tied back in a pleat mummy did for me but two strands always escaped. Mummy always said I had the prettiest green eyes ever.

'You are growing up so quickly my child, lets sing shall we' mummy said to me and I happily jumped on to her lap and we both beagn to sing an earthly tune.

Freya Godchild, my mummy was no ordinary human, she was a healer and the last of the great healears of Gaia, she always told me I was special to and that many people would want to use us becuase of our powers.

'mammma' I said stopping singing.

'what is it my child' mummy said gently rocking me slightly.

'Do I hear singing' a mans voice said, daddies voice.

Daddy appeared around the door smiling, his black hair alwasys so tuousled up and his blue eyes so nice.

I was about to get ready for bed when it happened, still dressesd in my day clothes, a green dress over white tights. The door to my house suddenly burst open.

Strange scary men suddenly appeared looking like monsters, and they held things in their hands grinning.

my father suddenly shouted 'whats the meaning of all of this, you cant just burst into a persons house!', I could tell he was angry.

I ran to my mothers side 'mamma' I cried for the first time feeling scared.

'shhh Aria its okay sweet heart' mamma said to me but I had a really bad feeling that wouldnt go away.

Professor Hojo could not help but grin facing the other man in the house, it had been rather a long time since he'd last saw Luca Godchild, the last time they spoke was back in Shin-Ra.

'Ah hello Luca, I see you have a family now' he said, his brown eyes scanning the house and resting on the woman standing before him then wandering to the little girl.

He smiled coldly 'I see you have a child'

I starred at the scary man, my eyes were wide in fear and I clung to mummy even more.

I watched as daddy stood protectivly in front of us.

'Hojo what in Gaia's name are you doing here!' my daddy shouted angrily then said 'Get out of my house!'

'mamma' I said pulling at her dress, she just shushed me and held on to my hand tightly.

The man laughed, it was not a happy laugh more like when someone was going to something bad.

'I am here for your dear wife, the healer' the man called Hojo said.

Daddy shook his head 'You will not take them' he said angrily and I could tell he ment it.  Daddy always told us that bad people would look for us and that if they came here, he would protect us.

It all happened so fast that Luca did not have time to react. All he knew was that one minute he was standing protectivly in fron of his family and next a shot rang out and something slammed into his body.

Pain escilated all over his body and he could feel the cold floor underneath him become warm with his blood, red blood staining the wooden floor.

'LUCA!' Freya cried out.

I saw the flash from the mans scary wepon, then daddy was on the floor, scary blood evrywhere and daddy so white in the face.

'Daddy!' I cried out tears beginning to flow in my eyes.

Mother tried to run to him but she was grabbed by two strong scary men.

'Why' she said shaking her head, her ocean blue eyes were wide and starring down at her husband bleeding out on the floor, she knew if she could get to him she could save him.

The man called Hojo who had fired the gun starred dwon at Luca on the floor and sneered 'you were never any good at protecting anything, you jsut got in the way!' he said coldly. Looking at Freya he said 'you are required to come with us, you and your child' Hojo explained holding his other hand out twards us.

Little Sephiroth sat in his room thinking about why his father the professor had gone off, not that he minded, being left with Professor Ghast was so much better. He smiled a little as he cuddled the old soft chocobo plush,his only form of comfort in his strange life.

He knew from hearing conversations around the lab that healers were very rare and saught after.

Sephiroth took a hold of his silver hair and bean to run his fingers through it.

Most of the time in his lonly world Sephiroth tried to remember his mother, Hojo had told him she had died and only mentioned that her name was JENOVA.

The room door opened and Sephiroth stood up, beside a nurse or nanny as she was called, professor Ghast stood with a cipboard in his hand and two candy lollies, he smiled and his moustache tweeked.

'Come on Sephiroth, time for some tests if you do well you can have a treat' he explained.

Sephiroth nodded, he loved professor Ghast much more than his real father, after every experiment with him Sephiroth would always get a treat of some kind.

'h'es bringing a healer here' Sephiroth said quietly.

Ghast nodded 'yes but do not worry' he said as they walked down one of the grey corridors.
